Sword Fine art Online: Lost Song ( ソードアート・オンライン -ロスト・ソング- , Sōdo Āto Onrain -Rosuto Songu- ) is an activeness role-playing video game for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows based on the Sword Art Online light novel serial. It is the third video game in the series and is the successor to the 2014 game Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment. Lost Vocal 's story is based on an alternate timeline of Sword Art Online that does not follow the canon storyline of the lite novels. Lost Song was released in Nippon for the PS3 and Vita on March 26, 2015,[51] while a Traditional Chinese version was released on April 28.[52] An English language-subtitled version of the game was released in Asia on May 12,[7] the PAL regions on November 13,[53] and North America on November 17.[54]
Reception [edit]
Sword Art Online: Lost Song received "mixed or average" reviews, according to video game review aggregator Metacritic.[56] [55] Destructoid writer Josh Tolentino believed, like its predecessors, Lost Song was meant for fans of the series. He praised the combat system for being less time-consuming in comparison to Hollow Fragment, though he criticized the dungeons as being bland and an "apathetic level design".[xv] Meghan Sullivan of IGN gave the game a score of 6/10, believing the controls are easy to use and commended the multiplayer, but stated that the enemies and dungeons are repetitive and considered the story to exist dull.[11] Hardcore Gamer 'south Jason Bohn stated that the game was "hamstrung by a lack of investment", noting the lack of English phonation acting and the plot being told through static images.[4] Meanwhile, PlayStation Lifestyle awarded it a score of 7 out of 10, calling it "a fun, lighthearted and breezy run through well-worn action-RPG territory."[59]
